Almost a Week Live

Ok, so we have been live with the beta almost a week as I write this.

So far, lots of sign-ups, but not so much on new presentations.

So, tell us – is there a hang-up somewhere where you get stuck? Is there something holding you back? We want the site to be great, so please let us know (you can tweet us at @slidepointnet).

So, we pretty much finalized everything on the site (as far as the beta goes). Everything *appears* to be functioning, we fixed several reported bugs, and are now collecting lists of ‘feature requests’ for the production release of the site (along with a column for ‘paid plan’ features).

We are also wrapping up the online documentation. We decided to go with a wiki on this, since it’s easier to update as needed. Look for the documentation this coming week.

I just signed up and was going to upload a brief animated presentation. Found out it wouldn’t take straight PPT or PPTX files. Had to convert to SPP file with your program.
Problem was, my AV software (Norton) called this package a Medium Threat and highly recommended not proceeding with it. So I didn’t. I’m not that familiar with this website and not 100% confident it is a safe site. I believe one of the issues Norton found with the software is it’s lack of users in the Norton community. Perhaps this will be fixed over time as more brave souls use your software.
Perhaps you can convert online by me uploading a preso in native PPT/PPTX format and you convert it then post in my account?
Maybe this is why you are not seeing many uploads.

      Hi Jay

      Thanks for the feedback.

Those darn anti-virus apps! Well, at this stage, there are no plans to have an on-server conversion (maybe into the future though). I can sit here and promise you there is no virus in there, and that we have been in business since 1997 and have been selling desktop software since that time with no viruses, but ultimately, it is up to you to decide whether or not you feel comfortable using the converter utility or not.

If you have any other feedback, please let us know.
